The Fuchsia Blossom Lariat grew out of my passion for creating flowers from beads and was inspired by the fuchsia plant which is commonly used as a hanging summer plant on patios and decks in the lake area where I live. The original necklace (lariat) was designed in 2007. The Necklace was redesigned in 2019 to showcase the beauty of the blossom. The blossom petals are worked in diagonal peyote and attached with circular peyote. The necklace is worked in the author’s adaptation of tubular Ndebele stitch which does not utilize the traditional “step-up” at the beginning of each round. Brick stitch fronds are stitched for leaves. Complete instructions, illustrated in color, will guide you through the process.
