Fee includes one of Merilou’s custom made dichroic cabochons (your choice), sterling silver and 14K gold fill wire, a Hill Tribe silver flower and leaf (99.9% pure silver), a jeweler’s polishing cloth, a fleece work surface and a copy of Merilou’s 12 page instruction book featuring complete instructions with color step by step photographs, in addition to the use of all tools in class to complete the project.
This is a basic wire wrap project with a “step-up” involving incorporating additional embellishments. You will be using Hill Tribe pieces to embellish your piece. Hill Tribe silver is pure silver (99.9%) as opposed to sterling (92.5%). The results will always be different depending upon the stone you use, the type of wire you use as well as the different embellishments you can incorporate into your piece.
Learn about wire temper, wire gauges and wire shapes as well as all about the necessary tools. You will learn how to measure enough wire, how to create a bundle of wire, how to bind a bundle of wire and how to create a bail. Come and have fun! Class is limited to 6 so sign up early.
