Cactus Bar Stone PendantFebruary 1, 9:00am - 5:00pm (ALREADY PAST)Jewelry Design Class By Donna LewisDonna is an award winning metal clay artist and educator living in Scottsdale Arizona. She teaches for Bead & Button, Bead Fest, JOGS for Jewelry Tools, ART Unraveled, Adorn Me! and many small groups. She also teaches private lessons on location for people in their homes. Donna's works have been in several publications by Lark Books, Brynmorgen Press, and Wardell Publications. Her pieces have been exhibited at Zaruba & Zaruba, Fredericksburg, MD, at the Shaw Gallery, Northeast Harbor ME and Purdue University. She has twice been a Saul Bell Design Award finalist, and a finalist in Celebrating Beads, the Journey of Design, at the Bead Museum, Wash DC. Several of her pieces have been in the Art and Design in Metal Clay calendars, one was a cover and her ring "Rutile Adorned" took 2nd overall in the North American Design Competition. LiL BeLLA metal clay humidifier is Donna’s invention. The earliest version was featured in Ce Ce Wire’s book, New Directions in Metal Clay by Lark Books. Take a bit of the desert with you in silver. Cactus skeletons have interesting textures; allowing the maker to create unique pieces. Add a faceted stone or small cab to enhance your fabulous pendant. Seven hour class with one hour lunch break. Kit includes PMC, silver chain, silver wire, mold material, LiL BeLLA humidifier, work surface, stainless bowl, stone, drill bit, firing services, patina materials, consumables and other items for class enhancement. Students should bring small pointed paint brush, pink emery board, playing cards or thickness slats, needle tool, magnifiers and task lamp. If you have a cordless Dremel, bring it and you won’t have to share with other students. students also need to bring both a fine round nose and a fine bent nose pliers.
