Maggie Thompson is a self-taught jewelry designer who began designing with seed beads as a hobby 25 years ago. Eight years ago she turned this passion into a business, Maggie T Designs. Her Etsy shop, http://www.MaggieTDesigns.etsy.com features her many designs sold as both kits and tutorials. She is also the inventor of “The Traveller”, a portable kumihimo stand, available for sale in her shop. In the last 3 years she’s written 3 ebooks and a webinar for Interweave Press/F&W Media, publishers of Beadwork Magazine, showcasing her specialty of Japanese Kumihimo braiding. Maggie teaches classes and is employed at Beadville USA in Chaska, MN ( http://www.beadvillechaska.com) where both her kits and kumihimo stands are available. In February 2017 Interweave featured her necklace/bracelet combo piece “Kumihimo Three Ways” as a kit - offered with “The Traveller” kumi stand included. Both sold out and are now being offered again as of April 2018. Her “Kumi 3 Ways” necklace was the cover photo for the April/May 2018 Beadwork issue.
