The modular kumihimo concept allows you to get straight to the best part of any braided project – the focal beads in the middle! The Riptide necklace features graduated sizes of beads surrounded by intriguing waves of seed beads. A clever hidden front closure allows the focal piece to be swapped out on different back straps to change the look and to coordinate with different outfits. You will likely finish the focal braid in class. You will learn how to incorporate a variety of bead sizes into beaded kumihimo, how to braid around a core, and how to follow a counted kumihimo chart. Peyote stitch will be demonstrated. Kits will be available in multiple colorways.
Level: This is an intermediate kumihimo class designed for students with previous experience braiding with beads on a foam kumihimo disk.
