It’s easy to create a sophisticated surface texture on plain metal sheet of
any kind using just a few hand tools. Once you get comfortable with this process, you can
create decorative metal components, parts and elements for jewelry and for use with other
mixed-media work. Make your choice of an oval focal element or pair of earrings. This
technique requires very few hand tools, and is travel friendly, too.
Special Notes or requirements: Students should bring the following tools: Jewelry Making
Pliers and Wire cutters, Sanding stick and files, Fine-point Sharpie, ball peen or chasing
hammer, manual center punch, steel block, jeweler’s saw (if choosing the oval focal)
