This flat herringbone wide bracelet cuff will show how to set-up, insert, and turn around with special attention to thread tension, and bracelet sizing. The project uses size 8/0 seed beads that are easier for newer beaders to get further along in the project during class. We will also go through how to attach a clasp, reinforce high tension areas, and adding thread. Special Notes or requirements: This class is designed for the advanced beginner. You do not need to know herringbone stitch, but should be familiar with using a needle and thread and able to read a pattern. There are 2 versions of this project, students will be able to select which bracelet width they are interested in making at the beginning of class. YOU NEED TO BRING: 8lb Fireline (or favorite beading thread), beading needle, and work mat.

Yes, you can make rings! In this class, you will be guided through the process of determining the length of metal needed to produce a particular ring size including for a ring that will be textured after soldering. Using various styles of silver wire, you will create three different rings in the same size, to be worn as a set. As time allows, you will add a small cabochon in a pre-made setting to one of the rings. All steps will be carefully demonstrated and explained by an experienced and patient teacher. Skills covered in this class include cutting wire to length, using a hammer to texture the metal, filing edges, soldering, setting a cabochon, and finally polishing and finishing. Cabochon availability and pricing will vary—or you can provide your own calibrated 5 mm stone. Cost of the kit with all the components will be $35 in addition to the class fee of $95. When you leave class, you will not only have successfully made your first rings—but you will also take with you a comprehensive handout, with fully illustrated step-by-step instructions to help you get started in your home studio. This necklace is a combination of Japanese technique of braiding called Kumihimo and bead weaving. Kongoh Gumi braid is made using seed beads and a variety of specialty beads. Z and S spirals will be made to create a mirror image. A beautiful slider holds both braids in place and then dangles are attached at the bottom. Project will be done on Kumihimo disk. Special Notes or requirements: Students will bring double density foam disk, weighted bobbins and counterweight. Experience of kumihimo is required. This 3D peyote ball is going viral! Are you done and over this pandemic mess? I know I am. What started out as a personal therapy project, is now a fun learning and fundraising project our local food bank. Let it all out. Your hate, fear, sadness, and relief while learning how to make structural peyote stitch ball-ornament inspired by the pandemic. Proceeds from this session will be donated to a local Tucson area food bank, showing that – we can #craftwithpurpose – to support both our community and ourselves. This project uses all 11/0 seed beads and 3mm crystals. Special Notes or requirements: Beaders should know both flat and tubular peyote stitching with increases and zip-stitch. The class is not meant for beginning beaders and will assume you can read a pattern and stitch at your own pace. Learn how to add a splash of vibrant color to your jewelry metal! We’ll use colored pencils and pastels to create rich layered color on copper or brass. We will create an easy pair of earrings in class – or students have the option to create a simple riveted pendant if they are experienced at fabrication techniques like sawing and riveting. In addition to the coloring technique, instructor will demo Riveting, Sawing and delve into Color Use and Design. Don’t worry if you can’t draw – we have premade patterns to color, too! Tension and bead sizes play a big role in structural beadwork, and in this project you get to play with both! This structural spiral is accomplished by using various sized seed beads (from 15/0 – 8/0) in a tubular herringbone stitch with tight tension. The interspersed pearls (ranging in size from 8-12mm) help to hold the shape and add interest to this already unique piece. Special Notes or requirements: You should be generally familiar with herringbone stitch and using 15/0 beads. You will also need to be able to hold a tight tension throughout working this piece. Yes, you can make rings! In this class, you will be guided through the process of determining the length of metal needed to produce a particular ring size including for a ring that will be textured after soldering. Using various styles of silver wire, you will create three different rings in the same size, to be worn as a set. As time allows, you will add a small cabochon in a pre-made setting to one of the rings. All steps will be carefully demonstrated and explained by an experienced and patient teacher. Skills covered in this class include cutting wire to length, using a hammer to texture the metal, filing edges, soldering, setting a cabochon, and finally polishing and finishing. Cabochon availability and pricing will vary—or you can provide your own calibrated 5 mm stone. Cost of the kit with all the components will be $35 in addition to the class fee of $95. I love a good Cellini Spiral, but a half-cellini is less bulky and can create some beautiful detailing too! Learn to use cellini techniques with an even-count flat peyote design to make this interesting necklace that is not only eye-catching, but super lightweight too! Pattern uses a variety of bead sizes and shapes from 15/0 to 8/0. We will discuss tension with variable size beads and show how to terminate the beadwork with a sliding end bar finishing technique. Special Notes or requirements: Even if you have never tried cellini-spirals before, you should be able to set up and work both flat and tubular peyote, work with size 15/0 seed beads, hold tight tension, and work at your own pace. This is a 7-strand Laramie braid, not a traditional Kumihimo braid. The necklace is made using satin cords, magatama beads and a focal centerpiece. Keum-boo is a simple but precise process and the instructor for this class will walk you carefully and thoroughly through the process step-by-step, as we all create earrings that are your interpretation of those shown in the illustration. Each step will be carefully demonstrated and explained. Skills covered in this class include depletion gilding, cutting and placing foil, fusing, and patinating the metal, and finally polishing and finishing. Silver blanks will be available in a selection of shapes, and availability may vary. You own a Dremel and you've never opened the box... Sound familiar? In this beginner technique class, we focus on the safe and proper use of rotary tools, and learn about the many different attachments available to grind, sand, cut, carve, polish and buff all kinds of materials, like plastics, wood, paper, and metal. Learn to troubleshoot, which attachments work for what material, and how to effectively use your rotary tool with confidence. We will spend a significant amount of time drilling, as this is the most-used technique for this class of tool. Students completing this class are welcome into and encouraged to sign up for my afternoon “Dremels: Advanced Techniques” session. Special Notes or requirements: Students should bring a Hand-held electric-powered Dremel tool (or other brand) machine and parts kit; any model, PLEASE: no battery- operated models, no rechargables, no "flex-shaft" Dremels. Yes, you can make rings! In this class, you will be guided through the process of determining the length of metal needed to produce a particular ring size including for a ring that will be textured after soldering. Using various styles of silver wire, you will create three different rings in the same size, to be worn as a set. As time allows, you will add a small cabochon in a pre-made setting to one of the rings. All steps will be carefully demonstrated and explained by an experienced and patient teacher. Skills covered in this class include cutting wire to length, using a hammer to texture the metal, filing edges, soldering, setting a cabochon, and finally polishing and finishing. Studs are back! These adorable little fine silver earrings are a breeze to make and affordable too! Learn how to quickly create stud earrings the right way. Carrie will teach you how to mold beautiful silver designs with depth and dimension to ensure sparkle on your ears. Students will make two fine silver components, torch fire and then learn to solder .925 silver posts. Carrie will discuss weight, strength and soldering techniques to ensure success the first time around. Carrie will also discuss alternative designs and techniques. Students will complete one pair of fine silver stud earrings. Kit includes 5g .999 silver clay, 2 .925 earring posts and nuts and use of all materials and tools. This is the class you have been waiting for! Learn everything you need to know to make your own custom jewelry from metal clay in one straightforward class, AND get your hands on the hottest new products in the metal clay world. You will learn to roll, shape, cut, texture, refine, fire and polish metal clay. Your teacher will provide design considerations that will lead to successful finished pieces. Learn Carrie’s firing guidelines and techniques so that you can work with multiple types of metal clay at home. You will have access to try a variety of tools and equipment to help you decide what is best for your future projects. You will learn required skills to successfully torch fire fine silver metal clay, and kiln firing will be discussed. Finish a pair of fine silver earrings (or pendant) that you designed and leave with the expertise and knowledge required to make metal clay jewelry on your own. Kit includes 15g fine silver metal clay, .925 silver earring hoops and use of materials and tools. All levels of experience welcome.

Yes, you can make rings! In this class, you will be guided through the process of determining the length of metal needed to produce a particular ring size including for a ring that will be textured after soldering. Using various styles of silver wire, you will create three different rings in the same size, to be worn as a set. As time allows, you will add a small cabochon in a pre-made setting to one of the rings. All steps will be carefully demonstrated and explained by an experienced and patient teacher. Skills covered in this class include cutting wire to length, using a hammer to texture the metal, filing edges, soldering, setting a cabochon, and finally polishing and finishing. Cabochon availability and pricing will vary—or you can provide your own calibrated 5 mm stone. Cost of the kit with all the components will be $35 in addition to the class fee of $95. When you leave class, you will not only have successfully made your first rings—but you will also take with you a comprehensive handout, with fully illustrated step-by-step instructions to help you get started in your home studio. Turtles and Tortoises in Metal Clay Who doesn’t love a turtle (or tortoise)? In this 6 hour class, we will be exploring how to make a terrapin using PMC Flex. We will start off by making a custom stencil, then, depending on the type of turtle or tortoise desired, make the body with textured metal clay. Finally, we will create a hidden bail to finish our designs. Amazing results are possible and the outcomes are limitless. This class is for the more experienced artist to further hone their creative skills. The instructor will supply all tools, textures and metal clay as part of the class kit fee. Students will only need to bring their creativity and a cord or chain to mount their finished piece on!

Learn to create these unusual earrings in this introduction to the ancient Korean art of keum-boo, where 24 kt gold is fused to fine silver and patinated to create this unique effect. Keum-boo is a simple but precise process and the instructor for this class will walk you carefully and thoroughly through the process step-by-step, as we all create earrings that are your interpretation of those shown in the illustration. Each step will be carefully demonstrated and explained.
