Discover the joy of enameling in this fun, hands-on class designed to introduce you to the basics of enameling on copper using both a torch and a kiln. You’ll create a beautiful pair of copper enamel earrings, embellished with fine silver foil and finished with colorful anodized ear wires.
Along the way, you’ll learn how to prepare the metal, sift and blend enamel powders, manage copper oxides, and add striking decorative details to your earrings. Whether you’re brand new to enameling or looking to build confidence with the fundamentals, this class is a great place to start.
The instructor has been enameling for over a decade and teaching even longer, with a goal of helping every student leave with a successful finished piece in a safe, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment.
All tools are provided, and the materials are affordable, approachable options for the home jeweler. We will be using readily available American-made enamels. You’ll also receive comprehensive illustrated handouts and a complete resource list to keep your creativity going after class.
Class Fee: $100 due at registration
Materials Fee: $95 due in class

6mm gemstone. You will learn to use texture mats to texture your clay,
create a bail for your pendant, attach a fine silver bezel cup for a 6mm
gemstone to your piece, and learn how to set your gemstone. If you

have ever wanted to see what metal clay is about, this is a great class
for you.

Yes—you can make rings!
In this class, you’ll learn how to size and cut metal to create three matching stacking rings in the same size—using different styles of silver wire. You’ll also add a small cabochon in a pre-made setting to one ring if time allows.
Step-by-step instruction includes cutting wire to length, texturing with a hammer, filing, soldering, setting a cabochon, and finishing with polishing.
Cabochon availability varies (or you may bring a calibrated 5 mm stone).
You’ll leave class with finished rings and a fully illustrated take-home handout with step-by-step instructions to keep going in your home studio.

Mixed Metal Applique Pendant

Create a show-stopping mixed metals pendant from a simple silver disc and a copper star. You’ll hammer-texture the silver, tin the copper star to attach it with precise solder flow techniques, and then add a fine granulation flourish at the center. Finish by shaping your pendant on a dapping block and learning approachable, affordable polishing methods.
Skills you’ll learn: applique soldering, hole punching, hammer texturing, granulation formation, controlling solder flow, dapping, and polishing.
This class is perfect for total beginners and rewarding for more advanced students. All tools are provided, and you’ll receive illustrated handouts plus a complete resource list. In this class, you’ll create the two signature silver circles for your necklace—one circle made from twisted silver wire and one circle made from hammered textured silver wire. You’ll then finish the circles and connect them to a fine commercial chain using small jump rings for secure, clean assembly.
Every step is demonstrated and explained in a guided, hands-on format, with an experienced and patient teacher supporting you throughout.
Skills you’ll learn: cutting wire to length, creating a twisted wire circle, hammer texturing, filing edges, soldering, managing solder flow, protecting fine chain from excess heat, using jump rings, and final polishing and finishing.
When you leave, you’ll take home your completed silver necklace plus a comprehensive, illustrated, step-by-step handout to help you continue at home.
