In the 1980’s, I traded my paintbrush and fiber for a forging hammer and jeweler’s saw and began my creative journey with precious metals and gemstones, intensively studying my art until this day.
Since 2000, I’ve been sharing that knowledge with my students in metalsmithing classes and workshop and working as a creativity coach. I believe creative thinking expands the making of art, and it opens the possibilities for the art of living. My ultimate goal is to build a community that fosters imagination, curiosity, intuition, and trust.
I am an owner of 3rd Bench Studio in Tucson AZ, with two other metal artists.
I am currently represented at the K Newby Gallery in Tubac, AZ, the John Rippel Gallery in Santa Fe, NM, and the Wilde Meyer Gallery in Tucson, AZ.
Class Fee: $120.00Kit Fee: $35.00Skill Level: All
We’ll be using copper and pewter for this project. You’ll learn to make both forms, the leaf shape and the pod shape. You will then choose which shape and which metal you prefer to make for your pair of earring. We’ll oxidize and hand polish them for the final finish.
