Description (including techniques & materials): In this workshop participants will learn techniques to paint a miniature desert with watercolors. I will show you ideas to create a circular composition, and some strategies for painting on a surface that measures only 1 inch in diameter! Participants will be provided with a curated color palette to use during the class, and I will share color theory techniques to create a harmonious design. We will paint on 100% cotton Arches paper and use metallic watercolors to embellish the pendant designs. Once the paintings are dry, we will use UV resin to set them on a stainless steel pendant tray. The skills practiced in this workshop are transferable to a variety of metal settings. Everyone will create two finished pendants.
